The Role

Operating with an appropriate level of autonomy to deliver technically challenging projects, key components of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Project delivery of hydraulic building services projects, heavily involved in a wide range of projects including commercial buildings, residential developments, fit-out, health care, aged care and educational facilities.
  • The opportunity to deliver multiple challenging projects concurrently, including multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Being a mentor for junior colleagues.
  • Working closely with a diverse client base, responding efficiently to client's needs, including attendance at meetings and inspections.

You will be part of a close knit team that are dedicated to the delivery of good service and technical excellence. With projects ranging from large commercial to public and private buildings, our team is involved in wide-ranging projects, including some of the largest private and public hospital works in NSW.

The Candidate

We are looking for someone who wants to take control of their career and can successfully operate in a highly autonomous, yet supportive, environment. The following attributes and experience are required to be successful in this role:

  • Upwards of 5-10 years of proven experience as a consulting Hydraulic engineer in the Sydney market
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical)
  • Previous exposure to aged care / fit-out / education / mixed-use / commercial projects.
  • A comprehensive understanding of:
    - BCA and relevant Australian Standards
    - Understanding of Council approvals and Sydney Water requirements
    - Fire hydrant, sprinkler and hose reel Australian Standards
  • Knowledge of Hyena and other design tools will be considered favourably.
  • Accountability to set goals and drive to their fulfilment
  • Proven record with mentoring young engineers
  • Open to travelling interstate
  • Ability to seamlessly manage projects in the construction phase.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with other stakeholders on the project.
  • Understanding and appreciation of BIM and REVIT.
  • Promote and facilitate inter disciplinary coordination.
  • Strong communication skills; able to speak and write clearly and concisely
  • Creative problem solving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles
  • Highly productive with both strong team ethics and the ability to work independently
